CHALLENGES
The Port of Durres, as the largest maritime port in Albania, faces a large influx of vehicles and containers every day. The safe and efficient management of this volume required:
- Accurate and automatic identification of truck license plates and container numbers, even when the text was blurred or covered by logos;
- Interconnection of the recognition system with automated entry/exit systems, such as electric beams, traffic lights and presence detectors (loop);
- Real-time access management for an authorized list of devices;
- Capacity to handle over 1,200 trucks and containers per day, without creating delays or congestion.
The solution from Albascan

- Specialized OCR/ANPR cameras, capable of reading license plates and container codes even in difficult visibility conditions;
- Integration with software used by the concessionaire, tested and successfully implemented in other ports in the region and beyond, for stability and high performance;
- Installation of an automatic beam system, connected to traffic lights and loop sensors, to control entrances and exits in a synchronized manner;
- Training and technical assistance for port personnel to ensure smooth and stable operation of the system.
